Calendula, Chickweed, Horopito, Kumerahou are the Herbs being featured during this week.

Herb Awareness Week is an event to focus awareness of the many benefits to be gained by including herbs in every day use for culinary, gardening, home remedies and crafts.

The Herb Federation of New Zealand is the umbrella group representing 25 herb societies and numerous individual members.

Throughout New Zealand, local Herb Societies are co-ordinating and presenting a wide range of activities during the week 11th - 18th March including:

• Seminars and Workshops with local and national spokespersons
• Restaurants featuring herbal menus
• Open Garden Days
• Library promotions
• Market Days
• Children’s activities

Strong support and enthusiasm from all participating societies will provide an interesting and exciting week to the general public.
